there isnt a 'traditional' school of Islam, what we know as the Islam that the likes of ISIS follow stems from the ultraconservative form of Islam developed by Mohammed Ibn al-Wahhab in the late 1700s who pledged allegiance to the house of Saud, who eventually established Saudi Arabia after taking the nation of Hejaz (which includes Mecca and Medina) from the Hashemites in 1925. Controlling the holiest sites of Islam and with shit loads of money coming in, theyve spread their fundamentalist version of Islam ever since. And of course being 'allies' of the Saudis, we are by extension allies of Wahhabism/ Salafism.

There are a huge number of brainwashed Muslims.
There are a huge number of completely normal Muslims who don't want to go around killing non believers and followers.
Unfortunately for us, they are the same groups.
The brainwashed liberal Muslims in the world are the minority and sit outside the traditional and strict teachings of mainstream Islam.

Lots of Muslims will admit that they have a big problem with extremism and terrorism. Look at the huge matches in Egypt against the fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood government, or the attempted coup and the big protest marches against Erdogan in Turkey.
The vast majority of the people fighting ISIS in Iraq and Syria are Muslims themselves.

I don't know if you saw Peter Hitchens on TV on Sunday. He's a fairly right wing journalist. Often anti-Islam. Even he was making the same point as me. Everything I've stated is fact as I'm sure you probably know, he was a violent drug user with mental health issues a long time before he accepted Islam.
Regardless of his motivation it misses my point, whether you are a lunatic or whether you are a cold blooded, clear thinking murderer... you don't go around telling people what you're about to do. Anyone that believes that people shout about plans to commit murder are just fucking idiots.
